Junior  Club Newsletter

For all you junior anglers out there, 2010 will see changes to the way we carry out our competitions, fly tying and casting lessons. Joining the Ammanford & Angling Association will be the same as normal with permits available for juniors and youth at Tightlines fishing tackle shop in Ammanford. What will be different this year is the fact that if you want to attend a competition or fly tying classes then you will receive a consent form with your permit for your parents to sign and  return to Brian Jeremiah at Tightlines.

Without the consent form you will be unable to attend competitions.
New laws require that we carry this out for the safety and welfare of our junior members. Any parent reading this will no doubt understand why we need to do this and hopefully help us to carry our junior section forward for the foreseeable future.

Competition Check List

When attending competitions please remember to bring a set of waterproof clothing, wellies, warm clothes food and drink. Make sure you have your Ammanford Angling Permit and a current Environment Agency Rod License.

Ohh and  don't forget your fishing tackle and worms!
 

 1. SUNDAY APRIL 11th  PICK SHIELD JUNIOR TROPHY
This is a singles, any-method (fly or worm) bank fishing competition for juniors and youth so bring plenty of worms. The venue for this competition will be Llys y Fran Reservoir. The association subsidises this competition so it will only cost each junior £5.00 to cover the cost of Llys y fran day ticket. Please contact Steve Richards if you going

 2. SUNDAY June 6th  BUSH JUNIOR TROPHY.
This is a singles any-method (fly,worm,spinner) competition to be fished on Association Waters. Anyone wishing to fish this competition must meet at the car park at Garnswllt car park at 9.45am latest to book in to the competition. If you are not booked in, you will not be able to fish this competition.
Fishing from 10am until 5pm.

 3. SUNDAY AUGUST 15th   FREDDY WILLIAMS PAIRS & JUNIOR/SENIOR PAIRS COMPETITIONS.
This is a combined junior/senior competition (fly only) fished from a drifting boat. Reservoir rules will apply. Venue for this
competition will be Llys y Fran Reservoir. You must be able to use a fly rod and have permission from your parents. For further details please contact Steve Richards.
Fishing from 10am until 5pm.
